The Great Lakes is a synonym for five large lakes on or near the Canadian-US border. A group from the counties that surround the lake visited the Icelandic Ocean Cluster in 2018 and showed great interest in our full utilization projects. The IOC was given the task of finding ways to make better use of Asian carp, a fish species that now threatens the diversity of the ecosystem in the lake. The IOC was later joined by a strong group of Icelandic tech and research companies that assisted in finding a solution to the problem. This project underlines the knowledge and technological advantages that Icelandic companies have when it comes to fish utilization.
