Í þeim skólum sem Íslenski sjávarklasinn fékk upplýsingar um jókst aðsókn í haftengdar greinar um 46% á milli áranna 2011-2012 sem er mun meira en um margra ára skeið. Þessu þarf að fylgja eftir með því að styrkja enn frekar undirstöður náms á þessu sviði og efla samstarf atvinnulífs og skóla. In those schools that the Iceland Ocean Cluster received information of, enrollments in ocean related fields increased by 46% between 2011 and 2012, which is considerably higher than in previous years. This trend needs to be enforced by further strengthening the foundations of education in the field and promoting collaboration between schools and businesses.
