The fourth meeting of the North Atlantic Ocean Cluster Alliance (NAOCA) was held in Aalborg, Denmark March 6th. The mission of NAOCA is to create a bridge between businesses in ocean related industries in the North Atlantic through business clusters. The alliance consists of clusters from 7 countries, Iceland, USA, Norway, Canada, Faroe Islands, Greenland and Denmark. NAOCA was initiated by the Iceland Ocean Cluster (IOC) in 2012 and formally established in 2013 in Copenhagen.

At the meeting in Aalborg collaborative projects between the clusters were introduced, such as collaboration in aquaculture, forming of a cluster in New England and more. “We were very pleased with this meeting and the emphasis the cluster alliance has on hands-on projects,”says Thor Sigfusson CEO of the IOC.”We were also introduced to various ocean related industries in Aalborg, Denmark that hopefully will open doors to further collaboration with Danish industry”.
